Agriculture History Education

Thursdays and Fridays are education days at AHP. School classes learn many of the everyday practices of our ancestors - the common chores they had to perform just to put a meal on the table. The curriculum is targeted to 3rd grade social studies standards 3.3 historical and community resources and 3.5 basic economic reasoning skills of the local region.

Volunteer led activities may include milking AHP’s “contented cows,” making butter, washing clothes, planting and grinding corn, an old fashioned hoop game and museum tour. A ride on a hay wagon and snack complete the morning.
